I wasn’t familiar with the brand, which seems to be mostly focused on beauty products. Oud Fumé and Vetyver Cedre are their two men’s fragrances at the time of review, but they also have a more extensive women’s range.
Vetyver Cedre I preferred over Oud Fumé. As the name suggest, it’s a woody scent and it’s rich and dense, with top notch performance. Vetyver Cedre is clean, with the vetiver hovering in between the darker Lalique Encre Noire and the soapier Tom Ford Grey Vetiver or Roja Vetiver Parfum Cologne. It’s quite earthy, but there’s also a floral tinge.
What I really like is the brighter and rather strong kick of citrus, which keeps this from being too green for me to enjoy wearing. There’s warmth in the base, but not as fiery and a bit sweeter than the one in Oud Fumé. It reminds me of a greener Amouroud Lunar Vetiver, which is one of my favorite vetivers to date, so this is an excellent take.
It’s EDP concentration, but it feels very condensed and rather heavy, so they have excellent performance. I can’t find the perfumer for these, but I know Pierre Negrin is the nose for the women’s line from Chantecaille, so maybe he did the men’s releases as well.
