Lunar Vetiver is a scent profile that I’ve come across often and it’s one that I love, so let’s get comparisons out of the way.
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is the main reference for a fresher vetiver for me, but also Roja Vetiver Parfum Cologne, and even Guerlain Vetiver (more earthy) are all very similar. Lunar Vetiver ups the performance of the others significantly, without sacrificing anything in the scent or smoothness.
It’s an extrait the parfum and it lasts all day, with impressive projection. To my nose Lunar Vetiver is 80% of the brighter Grey Vetiver EDP, with a hint of that more earthy, green, traditional vibe of Guerlain’s Vetiver. In the opening you get some citrus, that’s short-lived as a main player, but it creates a sparkling, fresh, more modern opening. Followed by the most masculine, soapy, versatile goodness. I think Lunar Vetiver adds a touch more warmth, but it’s a subtle nuance.
To be completely honest; you don’t buy this for originality. If you have this scent profile in your collection and you’re happy with the performance, adding this will be redundant. However, if you don’t have it yet, if you’re in need of a new bottle or you want the added performance, Lunar Vetiver is one of the best vetivers that money can buy.
