I wasn’t familiar with the brand, which seems to be mostly focused on beauty products (which I tried some of later and if it wasn’t for the high price point, I’d definitely use some of their products, like the eye-cream). Oud Fumé and Vetyver Cedre are their two men’s fragrances at the time of review, but they have a more extensive women’s range.
Oud Fumé is a powerful, burning, fiery woody scent. It’s a darker fragrance and I actually find it a little hard to wear myself. There’s an almost sourish leather undertone and it’s very resinous as well. To my nose, this is all about the burning, slightly smoky element. It’s executed well and texture wise it’s quite smooth and well-blended, so if you can handle this scent profile, it’s worth checking out.
It’s EDP concentration, but it feels very condensed and rather heavy, so they have excellent performance. I can’t find the perfumer for these, but I know Pierre Negrin is the nose for the women’s line from Chantecaille, so maybe he did the men’s releases as well.
Sidenote: I personally prefer Vetyver Cedre from the brand.
