‘Meet Sirène Privée – the darker, more dangerous side of our bestselling Sirène. Spicy, seductive, and utterly unapologetic, this is boldness redefined. In our first-ever pink bottle, wrapped in bold, sculptural typography with oversized, playful lettering, Sirène Privée is a statement of power, presence, and feminine illusion. The bold just got bolder. Are you ready?’ – Fragrance du Bois
‘Playful yet poised, this fragrance captures the duality of sweetness and spice. Sirène Privée by Fragrance Du Bois mesmerises from the first spritz – a radiant blend of blood orange and pink pepper that evolves into spiced cherry and geranium. Grounded by earthy vetiver and oakwood, this parfum balances vibrancy and mystery in equal measure, making it an enchanting modern classic.’ – Harrods

Sirene Privee does what it promises; be a bolder, spicier sibling to Sirene. Neither is my cup of tea, with Sirene’s opening being the part I like most, but I ended up disliking that drydown. Sirene Privee fares about the same; it is more interesting on skin than I gave it credit for in-store and I truly appreciate that it matches its premise, but it’s aimed at a target audience that I’m definitely not a part of.
Loud, attention-grabbing, fruity, spicy. While the scent feels rather unique, the style of this perfume makes me think in several directions, which shines a light on who might appreciate it. Think Creed Queen Of Silk, think the fruity-(faux)oudy Terenzi or not-velvet-anymore Xerjoff collection. Maybe even think a more feminine Maison Crivelli Oud Maracuja. It’s a mix of vibrant and sweet fruitiness, spices and a darker undertone.
What I appreciate is that the fruitiness has a nice zesty, citrussy edge to it. Cherry I can see, but I like the higher-frequency, sharp citrus that cuts through the overall sweet opening. It’s candy sweet and not necessarily the often seen almond-tonka-vanilla ‘gourmand’ cherry. It does get overly sweet and candied for my taste within minutes.
The harsher, darker base is probably mostly the work of the cypriol. While not overly earthy, Sirene Privee has a outspoken, screechy woodiness, drenched in sweet fruit syrup. Almost medicinal in a way. It strikes a balance that keeps it wearable for me; way sweeter than I’d like, but that drowns out some of the base notes that I don’t think I’d like better otherwise.
Fragrance Du Bois has clearly shifted direction over the years. My entire top 10 of releases by the house is at least several years old anno 2025 (Sahraa (2013), Oud Jaune Intense (2013), Heritage (2016), Santal Complet (2016). The last ones that I felt were ‘for me’ were 2020’s short-lived attars (Oud du Bois especially) & New York Intense. Which is a pretty good indication that Sirene Privee was likely never going to be for me, as it is perhaps the most shining example of the changes (the way Guidance is to a lot of fans of the old Amouage).
That’s not to say that it’s a bad fragrance. For this style of fragrance, I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. It simply doesn’t align with my (obviously outdated) idea of what to look for in this brand. I do prefer it over Lucius, as far as this latest wave of Fragrance du Bois goes. As mentioned in the first sentence, it nails exactly what it sets out to be, so if that’s what you came for, it’s a solid offering.
