When I tried the 2025 floral trio at a launch event in Paris, my clear favorite on first impression was Jade Amour. After testing them on skin (a sample set was gifted at the event), Jade Amour still makes the most likeable first impression, but Fleur Danger gives it a run for its money (whereas Neo Eden is the least to my taste, but also nicer on skin). All 3 are interesting; a bit more on the eccentric and contemprory side again (like a Fuego Futuro, Grand Beau), less the more romantic styling of Eau Coeur or Sol Salgado). All 3 have a sharpness and neon-hue to them.
Perhaps surprising, looking at the notes, Neo Eden is the most subtle, understated one in my opinion. It has an airy, rice-grain vibe with unripe fruit skins. Not a full gourmand whipped cream, but a lactonic flower petal quality.
Given that a lot of the Thomas de Monaco lean sweet for their respective styles (Raw Gold, Eau Coeur, Sol Salgado, Ultima Storia), I’m surprised at how much it’s kept in check in Neo Eden. Both the sweetness and the fruitiness.
I get more of the floral stems; reminiscent of a lily-of-the-valley style fragrance, mixed with that grain-like, paper texture. Like a less green, slightly sweeter and more lactonic Marc-Antoine Barrois Aldebaran comes to mind for contemporaries. I think it may also appeal to fans of Frederic Malle L’Eau D’Hiver.
Neo Eden wouldn’t be my first choice, but I liked it better than I initially expected.
