ScentAdvice is a one-person-operation (as a side project next to a full-time job), both for the content and the technical aspects of creating and operating the site and app. Having a steady revenue not only covers the operational costs, but also enables future upgrades (the website moved to new, faster servers in November 2024 for example). It also allows for the purchase of samples to review new releases in a timely fashion and ensures as much independence as possible as a reviewer. Brands are not paying for ad space or to be featured on the website. Furthermore, no random Google ads, distracting moving ads or pop-ups will ever be added to ScentAdvice.
