This is my least favorite from the Freedom collection.
It has a typical dry spicy-gourmand-ish style that’s been featured in many fragrance in the past couple of years. A type of (presumably pyrazine heavy) molecule blend used in many popcorn, rice, cereal or biscuit fragrances, resulting in a screechy, roasted woody and nutty experience.
I can picture matcha, but also rice cakes. It’s just not my style at all; it’s like the opposite of a cozy gourmand. It constantly reminds me that it’s not soft, smooth or gourmand enough for what I’d want it to be and ends up feeling like sweetened cardboard.
Obviously, it’s already being compared to Maison Margiela Matcha Meditation, but in my opinion that is a much more milky and greenish scent, which I do prefer by a large margin over the Kayali.
