Exclusive to Parfumaria.
‘Created exclusively for ParfuMaria in close collaboration with Theodoros Kalotinis, known worldwide as The King of Gourmands, and inspired by the personal vision and ideas of Maria, owner of ParfuMaria. This fragrance will never be sold anywhere else in the world. MILK & SUGAR PLEASE! is a unique indulgence for lovers of creamy, comforting scents. It opens with the pure, velvety embrace of warm milk, delicately sweetened with sugar crystals, creating an irresistible cloud of coziness. Smooth, mouthwatering and utterly enchanting, this perfume is more than a gourmand. It is a one of a kind invitation to comfort and delight that only ParfuMaria can offer (…) MILK & SUGAR PLEASE! is the olfactory equivalent of a warm hug on a chilly day. The milky smoothness and delicate sweetness wrap around you in the most comforting way, while the creamy gourmand base adds depth and lingering indulgence. Knowing that this treasure was born from Maria’s own ideas in collaboration with Theodoros Kalotinis makes it even more special. A fragrance you will not just love but truly cherish.’ – Parfumaria
Milk & Sugar Please! is the umpteenth gourmand (& store exclusive) by Kalotinis; in this case with Dutch retailer Parfumaria. I had low expectations, but didn’t expect to actively dislike the scent; however in my opinion it’s borderline unwearable. 3 minutes in I wanted to wash it off (I didn’t).
It opens very very milky in a sugary condensed milk way. As with the other Kalotinis fragrances that I’ve tried, it feels like pseudo-perfumery to me; as if its made with 2-3 ingredients; linear, simple, flat. In the case of Cotton Candy however, it was pleasant for what it was, here, the milkiness makes it nauseating when smelled up close. And that’s not exeggerating; I put my nose close to my skin about a dozen times in the first 2 hours and had a visceral negative reaction each time. This does not smell like perfume, but like straight up coffee creamer gone slightly bad.
A muddy, earthiness creeps in over time, before drying down to a relatively long, less-milky standard sugary-vanillic base that becomes wearable.
Overall this is a hard pass and among the least likeable perfumes that I’ve reviewed all year. Kalotinis was already the most overrated perfumer getting attention in the online fragrance community at the moment in my eyes, but from what I’ve tried, Milk & Sugar Please! is a new low.
