Magdala was quite interesting, but also not quite what I was expecting or hoping.

Myrrh is the main theme here, but the fragrance is quite fresh and airy for a myrrh.

The opening in particular almost reminds me of a lemonade, it’s sharp, fizzy, a bit green and fresh. It has a hay-like, ‘barn in the background’ vibe, smelling very natural.

The drydown is more to my taste. It sweetens up and it definitely gets smoother, but I still don’t get the resinous texture that I was hoping for. To me, Magdala wears like an aromatic fragrance instead. At times it reminds me of a slightly honeyed tea scent.

Quite nice, but not my favorite from the brand so far.
