‘Lattafa Her Confession Eau De Parfum Spray is a mesmerizing fragrance for Women that beautifully balances warmth, mystery, and elegance. It begins with a captivating blend of cinnamon and mystical accords, creating an intriguing and inviting opening. As the scent unfolds, a luxurious heart of jasmine, tuberose, and incense emerges, adding floral richness and depth, while mahanial enhances the fragrance with a subtle yet enchanting touch. The base notes of tonka beans, musk, and vanilla provide a sensual and long-lasting foundation, leaving a trail of warmth and allure. Her Confession is the perfect scent for the modern woman who exudes confidence, charm, and a hint of mystery, making it ideal for any occasion.’ – Lattafa
When I reviewed Teriaq earlier in the same week, several people messaged me that they did in fact get too much of the leather (that I didn’t perceive much of) in Teriaq and that Her Confession was their preference for a sweet Lattafa. I actually enjoyed Teriaq more than I expected, so I went into Her Confession with mild expectations.
And frankly, this one doesn’t 100% do it for me, but it’s close and another solid fragrance for what it is. This is a clone of Liquides Imaginaires Blanche Bete; which I did like. I definitely felt more excited about Blanche Bete when I first tried that one, than I feel about Her Confession, but I haven’t properly reviewed it yet. Another good take on this DNA would be Noeme Aman, which feels a bit more complex than Her Confession.
With Her Confession I smell an overdose of almond from the start. Probably just the tonka bean / coumarin and cinnamon mix, giving it a nutty, dry, but very sweet sensation. This much of the tonka creates a play-doh-esque, muddy unnatural side that I’m not a fan of.
From memory, I get more of the floral nuances in the Liquides Imaginaires, whereas with the Lattafa, the milky quality goes in a sweet condensed milk, followed by milk powder direction, that also isn’t my favorite rendition of a milky aesthetic.
Overall, Her Confession feels pretty straight-forward, with a massive focus on the almondy scent. You do get a hint of a rather dark, creamy tuberose, but it’s what I’d call a ‘designer white floral’; A lot of women’s marketed designers tout tuberose and jasmine, but it’s a more non-descript and often sweeter take, that barely registers as floral to my nose. I think if you’re more used to that realm of perfumery, it may feel more white floral heavy than it does to me.
That being said, this is not your average contemporary gourmand, as the powderiness and nuttiness can come across a bit retro and stale. Fans of Dior Hypnotic Poison, which launched in the 90’s, should for example have this one on their radar to try.
I should try this side-by-side with Blanche Bete one day, but for now I’ll say it’s surely close and a good, but not quite great fragrance for me. It’s one I’d like on someone else in passing by, but it’s not something I would want to wear an entire day or night myself more often.
