When I reviewed my vintage Chamade Parfum, I did a side-by-side with the vintage Chamade EDT. In that comparison I stated that the big difference was that Chamade EDT had a lot more of the brighter tones left.

That remains true after further testing of the EDT, although I must say, this one has also gotten a lot sweeter and darker than I initially remarked. Or perhaps, not having them side by side, makes it less noticeable that this EDT is brighter.

It has more of a greener tinge, but it’s slightly spiced and very sweet. The drydown reminds me of honey-incense fragrances a lot and I love it; more than I remember liking Chamade before. I get a lot of the clove and the base notes here and it takes it away from the aldehydic and floral opening quickly.

I’m still not familiar with current batches of Chamade, but I have a feeling those will be much less up to my taste. For now, this little EDT is serving me well.
