Alien Hypersense is an Eau de Parfum (EDP).
‘An overabundance of sensuality that delivers a sensual touch of juicy fruitiness, woodiness and florality, and Alien’s signature sunny Arabian jasmine leads to an effervescent revelation. Hypermodern, hyperfeminine, so fiery floral, Alien Hypersense expresses the most instinctive power of the Alien muse. The essence of florality, captured in a colorful talisman in form of a bottle.’ – Mugler
I love the Mugler bottles, but their contents not as much for most of the ones that I’ve tried. And Alien Hypersense is no different.
From the very first moment, this smells straight-up like a hairspray to my nose. Almost bitter, sharp, sweet fruitiness, followed instantly by a dry jasmine that rules for most of the wear.
Luckily, I’m a fan of jasmine, so overall, it’s not an entirely unpleasant experience, but the combination with the plasticy fruitiness and dry, harsh texture that creeps up through even the ‘juiciest’ opening minutes, makes for an underwhelming wear.
I don’t think there’s much of interest going on here. What it has going for it, is that it’s less cloyingly sweet than the Yves Saint Laurent Libre that it often gets compared to. It doesn’t have as much character as Viktor & Rolf Good Fortune and is frankly, 100% forgettable in a way that the first Prada Paradoxe was to me for example.
Aside for the fun colored bottle, there is little appeal here in my opinion. Not terrible, but a generic scent, executed with mediocrity.
