REMOVED ACCOUNTS
In the past weeks there’d been an issue with the anti-bot protection in the registration form. More than a thousand fake user accounts were created by bots. This should be resolved now, with a new RECAPTCHA requirement when creating a new account. On May 19th, I’ve removed all the bot users, but if your username was formatted similarly to the bot accounts, it may be possible that your account was accidentally removed in the process. In this case, I apologize for the inconvenience; you can create a new account or contact admin@scentadvice.com for more details.

•  June 12 marks the 3 year anniversary of the site, which started on June 12, 2022 as a personal blog. In March 2023 it began shifting to a more general news and database site. In March 2024 the name changed to ScentAdvice.

HIGHLIGHTS, NEW RELEASES & REVIEWS
Last month, I introduced Highlights as a more curated list of releases, with New Releases as the page where all new releases are listed in more chronological order. I’ve since figured out how to bump newly added Reviews in their respective list, without bumping those fragrances to the forefront of the Highlights and/or New Releases, so definitely keep an eye out on the Reviews page or homepage if you don’t want to miss out on those. As a reminder, fragrances that have a🔺next to their name have been reviewed (1900 reviews so far).

Many new notable releases were reviewed in the past 30 days: Xerjoff Black Moonlight, Xerjoff Neorio, Roja Parfums Isola Verde, Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Flower, Ex Nihilo Generation(s), Orto Parisi Risvelium, Jusbox Sisters B4 Misters, Dusita Tonka Latte, Montale Arabians Rose Leather, Montale Oud Sapparot, Carner La Playa, Floraiku Gong, PureDistance Divanche, Ormonde Jayne Vetiveria, The House Of Oud L’Explicite, Acqua di Parma Buongiorno & Maison Mataha Printems Blanc.

MONETIZATION
On the Where to Buy/Discounts page, there’s now easier access to 12 of the bigger retail and discount stores that may offer commissions for ScentAdvice. Which of these stores you see is based on your geolocation. Currently tailored for US/Canada, UK & the rest of the world (but mostly the EU). In the future, more relevant options for other regions will be added.

The way to support ScentAdvice is by using it as stepping stone for your regular shopping or structural purchases, via Sephora, Harrods, Ulta, Selfridges, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, BeautyTheShop, CultBeauty, Notino, Douglas, IciParis, Nocibe, Amazon, FragranceNet, FragranceX, Harvey Nichols, JomaShop, LookFantastic, Macy’s for example.

Reminder: ScentAdvice is funded solely in this manner. There are no paid ads or articles, pop-ups, random or moving ads on the site and this will remain this way. There is an unobtrusive ad banner on the top of the pages and there often is a link to purchase a fragrance or brand that you’re looking at in the post. Both are hand-picked and in matching style and color of the site. These commissions ensure the maintenance and growth of the site, but also make it possible for many new and high-end fragrances to be reviewed fully objectively, free of PR ties and perceived codependency that influencers knowingly or unknowingly experience.
