      SUMMER YUMMER (2025) • JOUSSET🔺, ScentAdvice

‘Summer Yummer opens with a refreshing and juicy burst of apple, pear, and blackcurrant juices. This vibrant and fruity introduction instantly evokes the feeling of stepping into a whimsical candy store, surrounded by the fresh sweetness of colorful delights. As the fragrance unfolds, the heart notes reveal the playful and delectable charm of raspberry candy and peach candy. These sugary, fruity layers create a joyful and nostalgic blend, reminiscent of carefree childhood moments spent savoring your favorite treats. In its final act, Summer Yummer indulges the senses with the creamy richness of vanilla beans and the tangy smoothness of sour cream. This irresistible combination provides a luscious and comforting finish, leaving a deliciously sweet and velvety trail.’ – Jousset Parfums

Sampling this on a hot Summer day was… a bad idea. Now to be fair to Jousset and potential buyers for this fragrance; it does what it sets out to do and I think it does it well. Quite a realistic, sour gummy-worm, candied, apple juice vibe. Sugary, fruity… it delivers everything it promises (well, except for being ‘refreshing’, which it definitely isn’t in any way, shape or form). Summer Yummer captures a life-like manner that many a ‘gourmand-trend-hopping’ brand fail to even come close to. Does that make for a perfume that I would consider wearable? Not really.

The opening has the most in-your-face ‘I just opened a bag of sour-candies’ scent, whereas the drydown, still very similar and fruity with some sour tinges, leans a bit more into the sweetness as opposed to the brighter sourness. I don’t really get creamy vanilla from it though, but very much the scent of wine gums and jelly beans. Fruity jelly beans is probably the closest thing that comes to mind for most of the wear for me.

It wears pretty loud and vibrant. Not harsh or screechy, which feels like an achievement, but due to the super-candied scent profile, it simply feels un-perfume-like. This is coming from someone who on occasion enjoys a scent that smells like a full-on cake or cookie or cup of coffee etc. But I guess a full-on bag of Haribo is where I have to draw the line. I could only imagine this as a kids fragrance (or one of those edible candy sprays), but ‘we listen, we don’t judge’ as those kids say, and if you’re looking to smell like candy, Summer Yummer delivers on its premise without a doubt.
