Sandal Granada is a beautiful powerhouse by Moresque and it’s up there with my favorites from them so far, followed by Contessa.
It’s a really nice, warm and cozy woody scent. Honey is very prominent in this composition; the woods feels like they’re drenched in it. It’s very sweet, but in a rich, syrupy way and not a cheap sugary way. I get a woody vibe akin to the woody iris from Atelier des Ors Iris Fauve; wood shavings, but much sweeter here. As you hone in, you get more of the leathery tinges and incense, making for a quite dark and dense fragrance, despite its sweet golden heart. It smells mature and I almost get a boozy vibe from it at times.
There’s a sharper edge as well (leather), but from my testing, it remains far enough on the sidelines to not disturb the coziness. I have acquired a decant, but one day, I wouldn’t mind having a ful bottle of Santal Granada in my collection.
