‘A new era of presence, atomized and programmable—a formula to render persona onto your skin. Poudre Irisee. – You arrive on time but always leave early. – Blurry outline, slowed poise. – Tender edge, soft distant touches. – Your conversations sink deep under people’s skin. – Flower-faced, genderless. Semi-translucent, lacking warmth. – Soft to look at, hard to touch. A cold shell, representing everything nice. Spray. Assume the air. Welcome to the daily simulation.’ – Epichron

As a big fan of sister-brand One Day, the previous Epichron, while good, were not for me. That changes with Poudre.
As a big fan of powdery fragrances and iris, this is right up my alley. It is as the name suggests, very powdery, with a fizzy texture.
Earthy and nutty, but it’s different from most iris fragrances. I get a mix of sesame like sweetness and a fresher, bordering on metallic/mineralic side. An almost citrussy, fizzy edge.
It has a ‘common’, slightly feminine leaning vibe akin to something like Stephane Humber Lucas Panthea Iris, but that fizziness reminds me of hops/beer, the way it does in Zoologist Harvest Mouse or Penhaligon’s The Omniscient Mister Thompson.
It loses most of the eccentric edges as the wear goes along, but I do sense a hint of… cardamom or cumin. Spicy iris skin scent in a modern styling. Overall, it’s a thumbs up for me.
