‘In Greek mythology, Iris was the messenger of the gods and bearer of good news through rainbows. As a symbol, Stephane Humbert Lucas has chosen the iris to dress Panthea, the Persian Goddess of the 777 collection. It is enhanced by Iris absolute, one of the most precious and expensive ingredients in perfumery.’ – Stephane Humbert Lucas
Panthea Iris is less heavy than I imagined; it’s a delicate, fluffy iris scent with a strong floral tone at first. It’s super smooth and it has the right amount of acidity to give the opening a bit of a kick.
The iris has a sweet, carroty vibe and it’s paired with jasmine, so overall it’s a rather sweet and fresh affair. To my nose, the opening leans pretty far feminine, but I know not everyone agrees with that, so take my opinion for what it is. I personally would definitely gladly wear it though. As it dries down, the tonka bean sweetness starts taking over, yet it stays fresh and clean, which is just pleasant in my opinion, but not particularly exciting or special. I prefer Isra & Miraj from the house for a powdery scent.
