With the Teone Reinthal website currently out of order as I’m writing down these thoughts, I don’t have much info on this version of Pink Lotus available. What I can tell you is that it’s easily one of my favorites from the brand, perhaps even my favorite from the ones I’ve tried so far.
Instantly upon spraying I knew this was going to be good. It’s fresh, watery, bright, ozonic floral in the best way possible. Hard to describe actually, but there’s an intense ‘white’ freshness, like laundry detergent powder here with a citrussy floral hue.
I definitely get a green tea as well, again on the citrussy side. The texture though, is what gets me. I have rarely found this type of citrussy, but smooth, oily texture in a perfume. It reminds me a little bit of the citrus rose from Jazeel Ghala, but Pink Lotus Gyokuro is a much lighter and brighter fragrance overall. Otherwise, perhaps the bergamot in Xerjoff Irisss can handle a candle to this as far as citrussy notes, but that as well, lacks the real brightness and sharpness that is in here.
It gets sweet as well, but not in a vanillic way. Like rose petals warmed up in the sun, maybe with a tiny drop of honey in the rose water (or lotus water, I guess, but I have not smelled lotus on its own, so I’m not sure what I’m looking for smell-wise).
The only downside perhaps, is that performance seems to be on the very subtle side, but that’s to be expected with this scent profile. I have trouble thinking of citrussy, clean, floral fragrances that felt as beautiful as this one.
