Nuda Veritas is a floral scent in essence, but it has an icy, metallic citrussy edge, amplified by the heavy usage of calone; the ingredient that creates an ozonic aquatic scent that was largely responsible for the rise of marine-like fragrances.
It also contains another marine-mainstay; Ambroxan. However, this is not a ‘blue’ fragrance, but rather a light and bright fresh floral (orange blossom, jasmine, osmanthus, tiare). Bergamot provides a citrussy opening, but it’s instantly very metallic to my nose and it’s clean, washing powder clean. It’s slightly green as well, but overall it’s quite a neutral scent (the metallic tinge isn’t as strong in the air, as when smelling your skin).
This is one of the freshest scents that I’ve ever tried, so this would be perfect in warmer weather. It’s easy to like, but maybe a bit on the safe side. I think it leans feminine; as a man it’s something that I wouldn’t mind wearing around the house at all, but it’s not a fragrance that I would spend niche-level money on. That’s not to say that it’s not worth it when you are looking for something this bright and clean, that also performs relatively well (although with this scent profile, it’s obviously not the strongest fragrance around).
For warm weather Atelier Des Ors I’m definitely preferring Pomelo Riviera and Blanc Polychrome, but Nude Veritas isn’t half bad.
