‘Le Sillage Blanc is a fresh green chypre that smells like the first morning of the world. The dew of water on the grass, the warm light spreading on the earth.’ – Pissara Umavijani
Without knowing the notes or description, the name had me expecting a light, transparent skin scent. Perhaps an ambroxan-like molecular scent. However, I was far off.
This is a sharp, green, slightly pungent scent. The opening has an acrid acidity on top of a green forest. The acidity here is bitter, reminiscent of tree sap or floral stems cut open. Galbanum seems very prominent.
From my testing so far, this is the most traditionally masculine leaning Dusita that I’ve smelled. It reminds me of Les Abstraits Des Cendres.
I find this scent profile hard to pull of for me personally. While the texture here feels more modern, the scent reminds me of fragrances more suitable to my father or grandfather. That’s not to say it’s not beautiful; especially with Le Sillage Blanc being rather ‘wet’ for this style, it has that dewy, natural smelling quality that transports you to a forest in the rain. Take it a step further in contemporary textures and synthetic smell and you may get Etat Libre D’Orange Hermann A Mes Cotes.
It’s a scent that I enjoy to smell, but not to wear.
