CHABAUD
Lait de Vanille
milk
benzoin
vanilla
caramel
As a fan of Lait et Chocolat (the opening is addictive), I was hoping for a similar guilty-pleasure type scent in Lait de Vanille, but I can’t say that Lait de Vanille gives me as much excitement.
It opens milky, which was the Chabaud signature (before the gourmand trend really set in in the 2020’s, so kudos to them). Much less vanilla from the start than I was expecting. Instead, I mostly get coumarin, marzipan, tonka bean, almond, that direction. Very strong coumarin vibe, which I do like, but it’s been done better.
The fragrance morphs into a screechier, spicier, dry vanilla; like a spicier Jovoy Fire At Will. Not as milky or creamy as I would’ve thought. I figured this would be cut from the same cloth as Lait Et Chocolate, but it doesn’t seem to be a similar base to my nose.
Overall, this was okay, but nothing of interest for me and probably the least out of the Chabaud’s that I’ve tried thus far.
