I’ve been meaning to check out this iris fragrance since I first learned about the Mariejeanne brand. And it didn’t disappoint. The brand has ties to oil manufacturer Robertet; known for having great quality ingredients. And that is on display here.

Iris Pallida is for the iris lovers. It’s not a hugely multi-faceted fragrance and arguably not the most mass-appealing fragrance either. It focuses mostly on the earthy, woody side of iris with some carrot qualities. But also almost spicy to my nose.

The sweetness is kept in check and I personally don’t get the scent of rose in Iris Pallida. More so, a slight aromatic tinge. I find this to be one of the more masculine-leaning iris scents. It’s a lovely, natural smelling, not too heavy nutty iris and wood-shavings.

A really nice wear and it’s made me more intrigued now to try other offerings from the brand as well.
