Iho is very easy to like. It’s a soft vanilla woody, with no harsh or unexpected touches. In the opening you get a great vanilla scent, light and powdery, but there’s an almost smokey, deeper edge. At the same time it feels very clean and minimal.
After a while, you get mostly a woody scent, with a slight vanilla tinge. It’s a lighter woody scent; I picture bright white/yellow wood shavings. It’s not overly powdery, but definitely not thick or syrupy, it’s rather airy. The woody scent definitely takes over after a while, but I like how the vanilla doesn’t fully disappear, as that’s the star of this fragrance for me.
After a couple of wears, I’ve noticed that the longevity is okay. I pick up wafts through the day, but overall it’s very subtle. Which makes perfect sense, because Iho means ‘skin’ in Finnish. I’ve tried ‘overspraying’, but I found that the fragrance loses it’s texture and even sweetness, as the woody base overpowers.
If you want a strong, exciting, attention grabbing vanilla, this might not be the perfect choice. If you want a more understated, mature, easy to wear fragrance, that’s very versatile (also unisex), Iho is an awesome option. You can easily wear this to work, but it wouldn’t be a weird choice for a date night either.
