A flanker (notes are completely different) to Heart of Rose (2019).

‘Born from the vibrant energy of exotic fruits, a modern signature with a sorbet-like freshness. It opens with the energy of sun-ripened fruits and places the rose at the heart of an exotic journey. The elegance of Turkish rose intertwines with vibrant exotic fruits, while soft musks, benzoin, and the creamy warmth of white chocolate envelop the scent in the base. Warm yet refreshing, it remains in harmony with the skin throughout the day—a modern signature. This scent tells the story of a rose passing through sun-warmed journeys. Joyful yet sophisticated. Refreshing yet seductive.Shaped by the vibrant energy of exotic fruits, it reveals a juicy, well-balanced, and modern character—sorbet-fresh, joyful, and an effortlessly wearable signature.‘ – Regalien

I reviewed the original Heart Of Rose (2019) some years prior to this, but frankly, I don’t remember it. I mentioned it was a candied, sweet rose, but I don’t remember it being this candied/fruity. I mentioned the chocolate gourmand side quite prominently, which seems to be mostly gone in Exotic. Which makes sense, because it turns out, this isn’t a replacement, it’s a proper flanker, with the original still being available alongside it.

This Exotic flanker is very fruity, bright and candied. It reminds me of peach yoghurt and ice cream up top, with a sugary candied ‘Amouage Guidance-esque’ rose core.

The entire compsition has an airy, almost soapy touch to it, which helps to not be too overbearing, but it’s definitely a bordering on cloying sweetness from the get go and throughout the drydown this remains.

Pretty nice, but it’s too candied sweet for my liking. I would prefer a more chocolate take, rather than an airy sugary one.
