‘Kingdom of Hungary, 17th century. Within the icy walls of Čachtice Castle, a woman enters a dark legend. Her name is Erzsébet Báthory. An aristocrat, powerful and feared, the Hungarian countess is accused of torturing and killing numerous young women. Her story has passed through the centuries wrapped in conflicting testimonies, political intrigue and increasingly terrifying tales. According to legend, Erzsébet bathed in the blood of young virgins, convinced that this macabre ritual could preserve her beauty forever. An image destined to become immortal: a body immersed in blood, youth pursued through death, vanity transformed into obsession. The historical record holds many shadows. The account of the famous blood baths spread long after the countess’s death, feeding a myth in which historical facts, superstition and collective imagination eventually overlapped. It is in this realm suspended between reality and legend that ERZSÉBET is born, a new chapter in SPIRITICA’s Crime Collection. A unisex creation that explores the bond between beauty and cruelty, purity and contamination, sensuality and decay. At the center of the composition stands TUBEROSE. An opulent white flower, narcotic and deeply carnal. Its sensuality is almost tangible: velvety petals, creamy nuances and a floral intensity that evokes skin, desire and the intimacy of the human body. There is something unsettling about its beauty, like a perfect face hiding a terrible secret. The opening is glacial, acidic and biting, like white nails in the dark. Cold aldehydes create an air of aristocratic cleanliness, cut through by the green and metallic nuances of violet leaf. Black pomegranate releases a dark, piercing juice, while a blood accord introduces an iron-like vibration, evoking freshly spilled blood. The tension between beauty and unease takes shape at once. At its heart, tuberose absolute reaches its fullest expression. Sambac jasmine heightens its sensuality, while iris adds a powdery dimension, refined and almost ghostly. Withered rose suggests the slow passage of time, the fragility of petals and the inevitable fading of beauty. Among these flowers emerges a vintage soap accord, evoking aristocratic beauty rituals: porcelain baths, immaculate linen, perfumed skin and acts of purification repeated obsessively Blood resurfaces in the floral heart, entwining with tuberose and turning its sensuality into an ambiguous, magnetic and deeply unsettling presence. In the base, cold white musks, sandalwood and Cashmeran build a soft, enveloping texture. Ultra-soft suede recalls the touch of skin, while wet stone brings back the dampness of the castle’s ancient walls. Benzoin and transparent labdanum add depth and resinous sensuality, leaving an elegant, mysterious and lasting trail on the skin. It is the silence after the ritual. The bath now empty. The scent of flowers still lingering in the air.’ – Spiritica
