‘Eragon Extrait de Parfum reveals an audacious olfactory signature where rich patchouli, vibrant cinnamon, and smooth vanilla blend into a deep, ambery, and spicy trail.’ – Parfums de Marly
‘Eragon was born of a desire for tension between light and depth. I worked with patchouli, vanilla, and cinnamon in a radiant, almost incandescent style to give amber new energy.’ – Julien Sprecher

      ERAGON (2025) • PARFUMS DE MARLY🔺, ScentAdvice

Generally speaking, this collection of Parfums de Marly Extraits (Carios, Eragon & Valero) is hard to take serious. The bottles, while not ugly on their own, look like Middle Eastern copies of Parfums de Marly. More importantly, the raised price point, for what was already one of the most overpriced fragrance brands on the market, instantly opens them up to harsher criticism. Frankly, I went into reviewing them, expecting to dislike them. In reality; they are not bad; they are on par with what Parfums de Marly has put out before and I think I like all 3 better than previous release Castley.

Eragon is definitely the most interesting and least generic smelling of the 3 for me. And also my favorite. It’s the only one that doesn’t feel like a joke at its price point, although it’s surely still overpriced. But here you get something to unpack at least.

This is the most spicy fragrance of the set, while still being on the clean, cologne side. I initially was reminded of pepper and nutmeg, but ultimately, it becomes a clear cardamom fragrance. And as someone who almost always finds cardamom too harsh and overpowering, this cleaner take on it, works.

I get a tiny hint of shower gel, a tiny hint of nutty and earthiness, a semi-sweetness and even some fruitiness that I can’t place. For a moment I was reminded of spiced fruit stews, like plum. There’s a festive, Holiday Season element here; I think the spices just link to those memories.

As far as references; this one feels somewhat unique to me. I would recommend trying it if you like fragrances ranging from Eight & Bob Original, all the way up to something like BDK Gris Charnel. Granted, Icame in with very low expectations, but I think Eragon is easily an above average Parfums de Marly.
