‘The strength and fluidity of the dragon oozes from the first spray of this refined scent. The bright top notes are indicative of the height and breath of this magnificent beast, while the floral heart denotes its beauty and potential to seduce.’ – Boadicea The Victorious
When I reviewed Opal, I had a lot of people telling me that Dragon is the one for them. I sprayed it on in-store and walked around with it (admittedly, later in the day, I tested many other fragrances, so it’s less of a proper sampling than I usually do). That being said, it’s clear for me that I still much prefer Opal over Dragon, but Dragon is pretty nice as well.
Another complex composition that has the florals, has some acidity (although I’d like more of that), but mostly sweet and spicy. I was reminded of the liquorice-marshmallow-caramel-ish vibe from a Tom Ford Myrre Mystere or even Creed Oud Zarian. A little bit too gourmand-leaning for what I was expecting or wanting from Dragon.
It has some leathery facets, but not in the often sharp of dusty suede way; the overall feeling is a bit mushy (not unlike Opal). I get some slight booziness as well. With great performance.
I’d have to try this one again to see how I really feel about it, but for now, it gets a moderate thumbs up, but it doesn’t wow me the way Opal did and at this price point, an instant wow is sort of the only way to go.
