Daisy has many flankers and while I’ve only tried them in-store, most didn’t appeal to me. They seem alright, but often sweeter than I’d like them to be. The one that stood out in a positive manner in the past year was Daisy Wild. This one seemed more up my alley and after a proper wearing, I can say I like this one.
This opens green, watery, kind of fresh and clean. Not quite grassy, but there is a small hint of it (more so towards vetiver as it dries down). Not quite citrussy, but it reminded me of lemongrass at times. After several minutes it becomes clear how prominent jasmine is in this composition. A sharp, but nice jasmine cuts through the rest of the scent from start to finish.
Daisy Wild isn’t devoid of sweetness; while on the surface this seems fresher and less sweet, there’s a noticeable sugary bubblegummy vibe that creeps in. In contrast the macademia is subtle and I wouldn’t describe this fragrance as nutty at any point during the wear.
It’s an interesting mix of mild grassy and mild candy-like sweetness combined. I think this would be excellent with less of the sweetness, but overall, this is still a stand-out in the Marc Jacobs line for me.
