Cactus Garden was a release that I anticipated quite a bit. It ended up being one of the better Louis Vuitton releases that I’ve sampled. but it didn’t quite match my taste.
I get the lemon grass in the opening quite strongly, giving off a green tinge. The colour of the bottle is indicative of the juice within with Cactus Garden. It’s a bit more aromatic than I would like it to be. There’s a floral touch and as it dries, I get more and more of the (mate) tea scent. It has a nice sparkling quality to it, which I what I liked most about it, but I had hoped for perhaps a bit more fruity/citrussy cactus elements. It’s still refreshing and interesting enough and I can see why it’s a favorite for many. If you like fragrances in the vein of Matiere Premiere Cologne Cedrat, this feels like a slightly more mature take on the DNA.
As of June 2022 it seems to be that Cactus Garden (alongside Sun Song and some others) have been discontinued by the brand.
