‘INITIAL IDEA: “A citrus that lasts”
MAIN INGREDIENT: Citron Oil Italy
CREATIVE APPROACH: Black Pepper Oil Madagascar and Pink Pepper Oil Argentina are used to amplify the fresh spicy facet. Bergamot Oil Italy and Mate Absolute Praguay emphasize the tea facet to prolong the freshness.’ – Matiere Premiere
Cologne Cedrat is perfect for hot weather. It’s a juicy, slightly tart citrus and it smells ultra-realistic and green to me. There’s a hint of pepper, but on skin, that doesn’t really pop, it just adds a little tinge of depth to the citrus. What does linger around for most of the wear is a hint of tea. It is a straight-forward scent, but the addition of a tea accord with mate is what sets this apart from a lot of other citrus freshies and it goes in a greener, herbal direction akin to Louis Vuitton Cactus Garden.
Even though it’s bright throughout, it’s not as sharp as you might expect from lemon. To my nose, it comes across as very wet, but not sparkling; like a non-carbonated (and non-sweetened) iced tea with an overload of lemon slices in it.
You might need the full-size bottle to overspray or respray. The performance is okay for what it is, but a natural citrus like this, will simply not last, especially in colder weather. Anno 2024, still one of my favorites from the brand.
