Acqua Di Parma is on a nice streak, with their Colonia Il Profumo being one of my favorite releases of the prior year. Buongiorno is another one that gets a strong thumbs up.
This is very minty. And while I’m usually not that big on mint fragrances, the combination with the fruitiness here works really well. Mint and citrus, but not full-on lemon or mandarin. I get a more greener feeling and overall, the vibe I get from Buongiorno is very close to the fruitiness of Louis Vuitton Pacific Chill, just way, way more minty. I somehow get kiwi from this type of fruitiness. Either way, it’s watery, soft, mild. Not vibrant and in-your-face, nor too sweet. Fruitiness, but office-appropriate.
Now, I personally barely get mint from Pacific Chill, but I know some of my friends do. I still think it’s undeniable that Buongiorno doubles down on it, making for an even fresher, cooling, icy feeling it exudes. Almost like toothpaste, you can taste and feel it in your mouth as you spray the fragrance on. And it lasts quite well; the mintiness doesn’t fade in minutes.
Overall, a very solid release. I don’t think I’d consider getting it over Colonia Il Profumo, which is on my wishlist. But that was a subtely tweaked version of an age old and familiar Acqua Di Parma DNA. Buongiorni is more of a stand alone and it delivers.
