Attique was a very unexpected take from Lubin for me. I’ve previously smelled a couple from the house that I would all classify in vaguely the same direction, so I was expecting Attique to fall in line (not having read the notes beforehand), but instead this is a more modern and fresher release.

In fact, this feels very modern for the most part; similar to new outings like Teo Cabanel’s Peau Salee, with its similar ‘solar notes’ and overall sea breeze and sunkissed skin vibe.

At its core, Attique is that sun-tan lotion-esque, sea side freshie with a smooth and almost creamy texture and a hint of saltiness. What sets Attique apart is the fig; rather than just having a creamy aspect, the fig is the most dominant, greener and bitter base component to my nose.

Somehow as it dries it starts to feel ‘less modern’ and more substantial. Really nice take on this, fairly overdone, style.
