This was quite an interesting experience. I frankly dreaded trying this fragrance, as the Arabians Tonka DNA is everywhere and has gotten on my nerves plenty of times already. Not in the last place because its wearers seem to find 30 sprays the appropriate amount.

So, low expectations, but what’s interesting here is that I get a strong sparkling texture to it. The rose in the opening is like a rose lemonade and it was averting my expectations.

Unfortunately the good news, doesn’t last all that well. The rose goes rather quickly. You’re left with a sweet, almost creamy leather with a ton of vanilla. Still, not bad. I’d argue that the opening and drydown almost clash with one another, but both are on their own, reasonably well-behaved compared to many other Montale releases. There is a hint of skankiness, but it’s not overly harsh. I wore this alongside Oud Sapparot and I definitely prefer the way Arabians Rose Leather wears.

I could rock with this in the right mood. Not too shabby.
