I don’t have a dedicated review for Angels’ Share, but I did make a comparison between it and SORADORA Jany.
When I first got my nose on Jany, I instantly thought of Angels’ Share. Now I’ve had some time to wear them side-by-side (both the bottles are stolen from my brother), so I can do a better comparison and the differences are more pronounced than I initially figured. Both are nice fragrances and I ended up liking them about equally.
I found Jany a tad too sweet and that’s still the case. It’s a perhaps simpler, or at least the more accessible fragrance of the two. With more emphasis on the apple and the milky gourmand facets. I do prefer its more prominent fruity note; it reminds me of caramelized apple milk tea. Super lactonic, perhaps at times bordering on cloying, but when I’m in the mood for a gourmand, this would be my pick.
Angels’ Share on the other hand is a bit heavier, darker. More emphasis on the booziness and smokiness. More woody. I find it closer resembling fragrances like Hermes Ambre Narguile, Parfums de Marly Oajan and even something like Herod. This time around I found less of the ‘apple pie’ and gourmand vibe that people often refer to. If I want a slightly darker, more serious wear, this would be my pick.
Both solid options. Different enough to be standing next to each other as their own.
