The only thing that saved Pulp from being a terrible sampling experience, is that I sampled YSL Libre Berry Crush right before it, making Alien Pulp the lesser of two evils. This is a release that looked pretty cool to me, but ended up being one of the most generic, lackluster fragrances to kick off 2026.

Sweet, a bit fruity. Dry, bordering on powdery, with a clear tart, transparent hairspray quality to it. Describing the scent feels like a futile attempt to me; it’s vague, generic, abstract. The type of release that comes across as if someone grabbed 10 random products off the shelf at Sephora and condensed into a messy mix of everything.

Luckily, it’s light enough and not so overly sweet, so it’s not offensive and it’s less abrasive as the aforementioned Berry Crush fiasco. I guess the ‘jasmine’ is an airy, floral touch (I get nothing creamy of the sorts, as indicated in the official descriptions) that makes Pulp more elegant as it starts to drydown instead of leaning into the tartness and sweetness fully.

Yet, it wears pretty badly in my opinion and there’s just nothing interesting that I can find to say about the scent.
