‘Balance is a state of being: anchored, calm, and aware. Like the Swiss Alps, it rises above the clouds yet remains deeply rooted in the earth. It holds the stillness of lakes, the purity of air, and the quiet strength of stone, while the scent of Swiss mint drifts through the alpine breeze, its crisp freshness sharpening the senses and awakening inner clarity. In this balance, nature and self become one. Yuma, named after the main character in this scene, is short for Yuzu and Mint — a metaphor for inner balance.’ – Pernoire

Yuma opens very minty and herbal, but with a good dose of that listed yuzu (briefly). It’s tart, sharp, but mostly, refreshing.
It does a great job at evoking a ‘cold’ feeling, icy air with a mix somewhere in between toothpaste minty and a herbal, steam oil.
Not my typical style, but I think a welcome change of pace for the Pernoire collection. Refreshing, calm, mature, zen.
The citrus lingers for quite a while, but not as a full-on bright citrus. It’s tangy and acidic, but it’s overpowered by a clean, minty and at times camphorus feeling. The scent grows even more aromatic as it goes, but in a slightly warmer and earthier direction, over the greener, mintier opening.
I’m happy that it doesn’t go in a generic shower-gel direcition, because of that citrus kick. It’s almost vinegar-esque to my nose, with a ginger-esque scent from the yuzu. Overall, a nice rendition for this concept and a new direction in the brand’s line-up, albeit one that’s not my personal favorite.
