While Y Iced Cologne (and the entire Y line) is not for me at all, I have to say that Iced Cologne embodies its concept decently well.
It smells highly artificial and plasticy, but I think that comes with the territory when creating something that’s supposed to smell cold and icy. It has a watery, yet dry vibe; like walking in the mist. A pretty strong scent of mint gives the opening a nice kick.
It loses the actual freshness too quickly however. It goes more aromatic; overall a very green-leaning fragrance. The scent reminds me too much of generic men’s showergels or an herbal sauna.
To me, this starts smelling more damp, rather than cool and icy. The scent of your cheap aftershave, prolongued, but also missing the sparkling texture after the first seconds, so it doesn’t quite feel invigorating or refreshing. Compared to all the sweet fragrances it does I guess, but not as much as I would hope for with a name like Iced Cologne. On the other hand, I do like it easily over the style of showergel that grows sweet, like Prada Paradigme or Parfums de Marly Castley.
Not for me, but not bad.
