Wood Jasmin has been one of my favorites from BDK for some years now, but I never got around to writing a review for it before.
In my recent testing, I found it sweeter than I remembered, but equally good. Sweet and spicy mostly, with florals playing second fiddle on my skin.
Spices are not listed, but I get the sort of dry spicy earthiness from cypriol and patchouli with more sweetness. And also a booze tinge. Others have remarked a similarity to cough syrup and I definitely agree.
Plum is there, but subtle. It’s a somewhat stoic fragrance, with no real juiciness or fruitiness, just a hint of the scent. I do not get much of the sourness/acidity that others seem to get.
Instead, it dives into this dry, dusty, chalky woodiness with incense almost instantly. The namesake jasmine is also quite prominent, but in a dry, airy way as well.
The more it dries, the more I smell dry tobacco; like a jasmine flanker to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille.
