‘Like a fairy-tailored magic potion, WISH come TRUE was brewed for you to be-live in your most beautiful dreams and aspirations. When feminity meets the enchanting.’ – Stephane Humbert Lucas
Wish Come True is probably my favorite Stéphane Humbert Lucas release.
It opens with a beautiful, cola-esque fizzy lemonade top. It’s often compared to Roja’s Enigma because of this and they definitely have a similar vibe, although they are by no means identical.
The cola in Wish Come True doesn’t last as long and isn’t as vibrant, instead I get a lot more spices here. It comes across quite strongly peppered, perhaps even with a sprinkle of cumin powder (neither are listed as notes). What I’m smelling is probably the incense; which I perceive more commonly later in the wear.
It transitions into a more dry, vanilla incense that wears surprisingly smooth. I’m guessing the tuberose and ylang ylang (which both aren’t all that noticeable in smell to me), provide a creamier texture. It almost dries down to a Musc Ravageur-esque amber with a big dose of labdanum (not unlike the amber in Isra & Miraj) and yes, it’s still somewhat similar to the vanilla tobacco from Enigma as well. The peppery fizzy incense sets it apart mostly, but it’s not overly eccentric; it’s just really well executed.
Wish Come True overall tends to be more on the subtle and well-rounded side. The opening has a kick to it, but otherwise it’s smooth. I read a lot of complaints about the performance, which indeed could be better, but it doesn’t bother me. I think sacrificing some projection in favor of a more elegant wear is worth it in this case.
