Vixere was the first Electimuss that I loved when I reviewed it back in 2021. It remains a favorite from what I’ve tried from the brand so far, only bested by Pomona Vitalis. Here’s why:
Vixere is quite the shape-shifter for me and a fragrance that I feel slightly different about depending on when I wear it. The opening is probably my favorite part, because of the really nice citrus scent. The grapefruit stands out and I enjoy that sparkling acidic touch here.
As expected, that juiciness doesn’t last long and Vixere transforms into a more subtle, orange blossom that stays prominent for a long time.
At its core, Vixere is a floral iris fragrance for me. Orange blossom, iris, violet and heliotrope are all quite prominent and there’s an overal dewiness to the composition. It has a pastel green hue at times and some wafts remind me of freesia. In the later drydown there’s a cardboard cashmeran-esque muddy facet to my nose, but I actually enjoy that here.
Why Vixere is a shapeshifter for me is that its sweetness seems to vary every time that I try it. Some days it’s hugely vanillic (although always in a powdery, heliotrope way) with the milkiness from sandalwood backing it. On other days, it’s much more floral and cleaner. I feel that this is very unisex when I get more of the vanilla, whereas on other days I can see how many perceive it to be more traditionally feminine leaning.
I think this is a classy, almost understated scent with its powdery nature. Perhaps a nice pick for the office, when you still want something relatively sweet and cozy.
