Do you like leather? Keep reading. Vittoriale is one of the better, leather-focused fragrances that I’ve tried. I love the scent, but usually end up going for fragrances where leather is less up front and center to actually wear. That being said, if you love wearing leather scents, Vittoriale delivers quality.

It combines leather with a slight hint of tobacco and it leaves an overall earthy impression at first. I get hints of fruitiness (perhaps from the violet) that are reminiscent of Tuscan Leather, but instead of a slick new leather, Vittoriale feels raw in the opening.

What reached me first is a rather natural, lifelike leather that makes one think of cowboys or perhaps a biker jacket, more so than high fashion or a luxurious couch. However, as time went on, the leather became ‘cleaner’ to my nose.

On second and third wearing I got more of the mossy, brighter undertone. Aside from moss, I think the jasmine and ambergris probably add to this. As if this brightness polished the leather a bit (while still smelling very lifelike). There’s definitely some more sweetness coming through to help with wearability too.

The mid of the wear feels the smoothest and I think I get most of the ambergris touches there.

As mentioned; a tad ‘too much leather’ to be a personal favorite, but arguably one of the best in this genre; would put this right alongside Tuscan Leather.
