‘Inspired by the victory cry of Julius Caesar, Vici Leather is the scent of success exuding luxury and an easy confidence. At the heart of this fragrance are two powerful notes of seduction, one feminine, one masculine, combined perfectly to create a very unisex scent that is elegant and charismatic. A robust tuberose is entwined with an addictive sweet leather to create a heart of masculine and feminine sensuality. Vici Leather is made even more intoxicating by the artemisia which has the woozy quality of artemisia and an ambery base that is both powerful and relaxed. It is a confident fragrance with effortless elegance exuding success and sensuality.’ – Electimuss
‘Vici Leather is the ultimate smell of seduction. It starts off with a artemisia, evoking the wooziness of the artemisia. But rapidly it combines two of the most sensual ingredients of perfumers’ palette. One expressing a more masculine attribute showing a manly but gentle charisma: sweet leather. The other one is more known for being a feminine attribute of seduction: Tuberose. As a fun fact, young women during the Renaissance were forbidden from the Tuberose fields, as it was said the captivating smell of tuberose might make it impossible for them to control their desire. Those two powerful ingredients combine perfectly in a very unisex, powerful, elegant, laid back charisma, ambery base.’ – Julien Rasquinet

Vici Leather is another quite heavy offering for Electimuss by Julie Rasquinet. It’s a bit more conventional than his more recent Gladiator Oud, but also a bit nicer for me personally.

I am not the biggest fan of full-on leather centric fragrances, although I do like the scent of leather as its own thing. Here you get a super sweet, candied type of leather, with a dry, almost salmiak, sweet liquorice type of scent.

Definitely a bit animalic, but also very sweet. Yet, once you get accustomed to that, you realize there’s a big green and white floral accord beneath it. Now animalic leather made sweet, mixed with bubblegummy tuberose and green may sound like a challenge if your nose is the same as mine, but I do think it strikes a surprisingly nice balance.

As with Gladiator Oud, I sort of have to appreciate it and start enjoying it somewhat, even though it’s really not my jam to begin with. I’d say both are stellar releases and if you are into this style of perfumery more, than these are worth seeking out.
