‘Xerjoff’s Spotlight Collection exclusively presents Via Cavour 1. Opening to top notes with quince and white peach, this delicate perfume is followed by hints of Moroccan rose, dark chocolate, red berries and patchouli at the heart. At the base, oud, caramel, amber, Madagascan vanilla and musk warm up the senses. This scent is named after the street where our Turin store is located, which in turn is named after Conte Camillo Benso di Cavour. He was one of the protagonists of Italian Risorgimento, nicknamed “Father of the Nation” by no less than Giuseppe Verdi.’ – Xerjoff
Via Cavour 1 or just Cavour 1 as the bottle now states was a really pleasant surprise to me.
At the time of writing this fragrance is exclusively available online or at Xerjoff’s Turin boutique, hence it’s not all that often talked about. However, I think it deserves a good look. This is one of the more interesting combinations of fruit and sweet that Xerjoff has done. You get a sophisticated air from this one as the chocolate has an almost boozy fruitiness. As if you could pair this fragrance with high heels and red wine (I do feel like it would suit women the most).
It’s a more mature and classy take on for example the more light-hearted Symphonium. I get a hint of rose as it dries down. I would say that if one loves the idea of Guerlain Gourmand Coquin this might be a one to look into (albeit a different scent overall).
