‘Start your day with a whiff of this unique blend where smoky vanilla beans meet a fresh mandarin note. This fragrance opens with rich caramel with a subtle hint of hazelnut and the sweetness of crème brûlée for an unforgettable finish. It’s not just a scent, it’s a statement. With every spritz, you acknowledge your own identity. Vanilla Haze is for those who have their own charisma and live by their own rules. So make an outrageously good impression – everywhere you go’ – Basier Beauty
Vanilla Haze is a very pleasant, but also familiar smelling ‘vanilla’.
Most people have been comparing this to Giardini di Toscane Bianco Latte, and I can see that, but frankly, I can see this being compared to at least dozen vanilla scents. It smells pretty generic in my opinion. It has that sharp, dry caramel vibe. More caramel than vanilla for all of the wear for me actually.
I don’t get much by way of smoothness, creaminess, lactonics. It’s dry, and almost airy (although, powerful), with a nutty backbone. This also reminded me of Penhaligon’s The Omniscient Mr. Thompson at times.
I’d have to really imagine smelling the mandarin here; I definitely don’t get the freshness or ‘burst of’ citrus from the brand’s descriptions and I don’t smell jasmine or anything strongly floral either on first impression. It feels like a straight-forward gourmand.
Slightly smoky, but not dark or heavy. Just a powerful blast of vanillic and nutty caramel that doesn’t transition much from start to finish and it lasts and projects. That being said, I wouldn’t call it harsh, it wears nicely for this style of fragrance, but it lacks the creaminess or resinous texture that I prefer in a vanillic scent.
While I would prefer Vanilla Haze over Bianco Latte, I don’t prefer it over a plethora of others gourmand fragrances. Really pleasant and I’d happily wear it, but I found it basic in both quality and scent profile.
