Vanilla Barka is right up my alley, but if I’m being honest, it’s also the most generic release from Amouage’s 2021 Attar Collection. It opens strong on incense, which I liked and it’s a woody/spicy vanilla up close, but it dries down to a rather common vanilla that wouldn’t smell suspicious in a Casamorati or even Montale line-up. I love the scent and the longevity is the most impressive thing about it, but it won’t take you by surprise and I personally had different expectations for a Dominique Ropion vanilla at this price point.
