THANK YOU!
2025 was a successful year for ScentAdvice, exceeding my expectations in every metric. I would like to thank everyone that uses and shares the site, app or social media channels and I hope for your continued support in 2026.
MILESTONES
• ScentAdvice crossed 6 million total views. More importantly, 4 million of those views are from 2025; more than doubling 2024’s viewership.
• @ScentAdvice Instagram crossed 25.000 followers.
• Over 8000 r/newfragrances Reddit members.
AWARDS & GIVEAWAY
The Best Of 2025 Awards have been posted! Highlighting 30 of the best new releases, as well as 20 of my favorite discoveries during 2025 that were released earlier. There’s even a little rant in between the lists. And, the biggest giveaway of the year, with a chance to win 10 of the ranked fragrances (you can enter until New Year’s Eve).
MONETIZATION
During 2025 ScentAdvice has shifted towards the business-end, with more focus on sales and available fragrances. I’ve started using the social media channels and homepage to link directly to external stores more often, instead of to my own database. I’m still trying to strike a balance with this, but ultimately, I can’t ignore the benefits that those redirects have in terms of revenue (almost triple in the second half of 2025). There’s also a growing, casual-fragrance-wearing audience that is here specifically for the more commercial side; for example listing all the Black Friday deals brought in a lot of new visitors.
That said, I don’t want to alienate the people that I created ScentAdvice for in the first place or lose the established look-and-feel. The latest releases have been split up from the highlights on the homepage, so that those who are looking for just that information can still find it there, similar to how it was before. For 2026 my view on advertising remains: No random, third-party or auto-generated ads. No moving ads or pop-ups. No paid-for ads, articles or reviews. The monetization will always be in the form of handpicked links to stores and brands, in a manner that matches the look-and-feel of the site.
LAYOUT & ISSUE
If you are in the minority of people that still frequently use a desktop/laptop (like myself), ScentAdvice.com now has a wider page to make better use of the available space. Opposed to 5 colums for tablets and 3-4 for phones, the homepage & database on desktop now have 6 columns, to see more in one overview. The brand’s databases and search results show 30 fragrances on all screen sizes, versus 15 before, which means less clicks for you.
It’s been brought to my attention that there can be visual issues with the layout when using the ScentAdvice app on certain tablets in landscape orientation. I’m not sure if/when this will be fixed, but everything should work as intented in portrait mode or on the mobile site outside of the app. If this turns out to be an issue for too many users, I may disable landscape mode completely, but I assume that it only affects a tiny group of users.

UPCOMING REVIEWS
In 2026 I’ll likely review less fragrances. I’ll still try to get my hands on some of the newest and most popular releases, but I also want to invest more of my energy in seeking out brands and fragrances that intrigue me personally and make sure that reviewing doesn’t start to feel like a ‘chore’. Recent releases that I’m hoping to review soon-ish: Stephane Humbert Lucas The Queen & The Viper, Les Abstraits Philosopher’s Walk, Dolce & Gabbana The One For Men Parfum, Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Cologne Forte, Tom Ford Figue Erotique, Chris Collins African Rooibos Intens,
TOP 50
In January, I will revise my top 50. This list is a ranking of the fragrances that I have at least a travel size of in my personal collection. You can read the previous rankings here: April 2025, April 2024, July 2023.
COPYRIGHT CLAIMS
In the past two updates, I’ve spoken on copyright claims and removed posts on Instagram. In the past month, @ScentAdvice had another posts removed. The account currently has 9 strikes against it. Given that I’ve lost 2 Instagram accounts in the past for way less, I’m surprised the it hasn’t been banned yet. I fear that a loss of this account may happen at any time. When that happens, I will try to create a new page, but it would definitely help if you follow my personal page @BrainFragrances as a back-up option.
