The opening of Tuttle is one of the best that I can imagine for warmer weather. Most prominent is the grapefruit. It’s bright, zesty, fruity, crisp, but it’s in a sense also subtle. To my nose, this is more like a sparkling water with a grapefruit touch. Texture wise it’s almost fizzy and it reminds me of a fruitier version of OmanLuxury Overdose in that sparkling quality. It also reminded me a bit of a cactus fruitdrink.
The best thing is, that brightness from the opening lasts admirably long. Instead of just the grapefruit, you get a bit more fruitiness (blackcurrant and peach are listed), but it’s still relatively subtle for a while in the way it comes across; not a thick cocktail or a cloying sweetness.
The grapefruit-y fruitmix is joined by quite a strong floral tinge and an ambery sweetness. It warms up a bit, but the tart, zingy quality does an amazing job of sticking around. You do get more of a sweet woody amber drydown, which isn’t as great as the opening and definitely sweeter than I’d love to see, but still very nice.
In general the performance is great for this style of scent (which I would consider more of a citrus fragrance than anything else). Add to that the bottle (these presentations are Terenzi’s best in my opinion) and you got yourself a good one.
