I was a bit conflicted about my first impression with Tuba (to the point that I wore it again to try to wrap my head around it).

While Motia (Jasmine) felt a bit flat and didn’t wow me straight away, Tuba feels like it’s big white flower brother and it takes a less safe route. Russian Adam speaks of this as a creamy gourmand with reference to banana whip-cream and creme brulee, but that’s not my experience at all.

It sure is creamy and the texture is awesome, but in the opening Tuba feels very vegetal to me. Like actual cooked vegetables. I get a hint of a gourmand-ish sweetness, but also a hint of Brussels sprouts. It’s not overly indolic, but a tiny bit and there’s a smoky edge.

Where I personally find its opening on the hard side to wear (the hardest to pull off from this line in my opinion); the drydown is much more forgiving. The tuberose goes in a slightly sweet and green direction (Carnal Flower-ish) and it becomes a nice experience for me.

It could be my least favorite overall scent of the 5 fragrances in this collection, but I do think it’s interesting and has a bit more to offer than some of the others if you’re looking for an experience; it’s definitely different than other tuberose offerings that I’m familiar with. The tuberose also fights back the most against the prominent sandalwood base in my opinion.
