To be honest, I often lean towards minimal, clean looking bottles, as some of my favorites like Frederic Malle, Chanel Les Exclusifs or Maison Christian Dior etc. However, for this list, I’ve looked at the more eccentric or unique bottles that I appreciate. Here are 25 of my favorite, most beautiful, cool, quirky or prettiest designs!
GUERLAIN BEE BOTTLE
The absolute King/Queen of bottles for me. Especially when adorned in its golden paint, or many of the special limited editions. Timeless; Created in 1853 to commemorate Empress Eugenie’s marriage to Napoleon III.
VAN CLEEF & ARPELS MIDNIGHT IN PARIS
A bottle that feels like its more popular or known than its content. Photos don’t do this one justice.
DRIES VAN NOTEN SOIE MALAQAIS
While Dries van Noten’s perfume line hasn’t wowed me yet, the bottles are amazing. In particular this Delft’s blue-style Soie Malaquais, made with actual porcelain.
BUTERBAUGH OUD FLOWERS
All the Eric Buterbaugh bottles have this wonderful shape, but the blacked out Oud Flowers line looks especially great. Unfortunately, it seems that no more fragrances are being produced by this brand.
AREEJ LE DORE CHINESE OUD
Areej Le Dore has many magnificent bottles. My favorite has to be Chinese Oud. This first version with the more rounded glass I prefer over Chinese Oud II. Equally amazing is the wooden travel size as pictured here by yours truly.
KILIAN ART OF LOVE
The perhaps lesser-known Art Of Love collection by Kilian (created exclusively for the Russian market) boasts my favorite Kilian design.
MORESQUE ORO
Moresque has several of my favorite bottles, but the top spot goes to this golden creation that reminds me of honey wrapped around a honey dipper/spoon.
LOUIS VUITTON LES EXTRAITS
Louis Vuitton bottles always pop with their colors, but their Extraits add some flair by adding a curve and a more extravagant cap.
TEONE REINTHAL
These 50ml ‘vintage French crystal’ style bottles by TRNP are the perfect combination of classy, clean and unique.
LUBIN KORRIGAN
An underrated brand, with some of the best bottles on the market. My favorite being this sculpture-esque Korrigan.
FLORAIKU ONE UMBRELLA FOR TWO
Floraiku is not one of my favorite brands scents-wise, but their cap-heavy presentation is up there with the very best. Pictured is the (old version) of One Umbrella For Two, but any of this brand will do.
GUERLAIN MAHORA
With this fragrance being a ‘flop’ for Guerlain, it’s a bottle that doesn’t show up much. When you can do a design this eccentric and phallic without it looking bad, you deserve a spot on this list.
XERJOFF STARLIGHT
Few things are better than the shape and feel of a Xerjoff bottle, but the extra decorated Starlight is one of them.
CREED LES ROYALES EXCLUSIVES
Perhaps a bit reminiscent of the bee-adorned Guerlain flacons, these Les Royals Exclusives fit the ‘class’ and price point that Creed wants to embody much more than their regular bottles in my opinion.
AREEJ LE DORE 7th COLLECTION
One of the finest bottles in my collection. The glass seemingly inspired by Lalique (Soleil), but the beautiful large cap with calligraphy sets it apart.
NEELA VERMEIRE
This brand has managed to pull off one of the best and cleanest looking ‘vintage’ style bottles. I hope to add one to my collection.
OJAR ABSOLUTES
Ojar nailed their branding with the unique look and color schemes. Its signature blue metal in combination with several great matching glass colors is instantly recognizable.
ORMAIE
I had to group these together, as I think that’s where this line’s design shines. On their own, they are cool and quirky, but as an ensemble, they look amazing.
SULEKO *ALBHO-
How’s this for originality? Suleko has a very handmade look, but this one is their most polished and my favorite. An absolute sculpture, meant to look like a swan.
THE HARMONIST YIN TRANSFORMATION
I love the look of the Harmonist bottles, especially knowing they are heavy glass bottles, which you may not expect. This blue colorway of Yin Transformation might be my favorite.
TERENZI ASSOLUTO
I’m not the biggest fan of all of Terenzi’s bottles, but their Assoluto line (as well as their Comets line) is top-notch.
GUERLAIN CHAMADE
I promise this is the last Guerlain… but who could not add this to a list of prettiest bottles?
CARON POIVRE
Caron has some of the best bottles in their century spanning collection, but this version of Poivre is quite legendary.
AMOUAGE ATTARS
I tend to like the look of many attar bottles, but this more modern and clean take from Amouage’s renewed attar line absolutely nailed it for me.
MUGLER WOMANITY
Ending the list with a classic. Divisive in both scent and presentation, Womanity is worth being remembered. Besides, it’s hard to leave Mugler out of a list like this, with their many creative bottles.
