Tonka Imperiale is another gem, although for non-gourmand lovers, it might be a bit underwhelming coming from Guerlain. I’d have a bottle of this, weren’t if that I already have a great similar one in my collection.
To my nose this opens with a lot more almond than tonka. It’s supersmooth, with a slight tobacco edge. It’s sweet, but not ‘warm sweet’. It feels pretty neutral and subtle in it’s sweetness, creating an almost zen-like comforting vibe.
The reason I didn’t take a bottle home with me from the boutique (and went with Gourmand Coquin instead), is that I have Lorga Ambre Platine; a very similar fragrance as it dries down.
